Anne Finan

“It is necessary to cultivate our garden.” - Voltaire

As Director of the Ananda Center, Anne’s mission is to create a community that invites awareness of all that we are.

Anne has practiced and studied many styles and forms of yoga including Anusara, Ashtanga, Bikram, Embodied, Iyengar, Katonah Yoga, Kundalini, and Vinyasa. She is a registered 200-hour level Educator with the Yoga Alliance and she is certified in EmbodYoga with Patty Townsend at the 500 hour level. In addition, Anne is certified in Embodied Developmental Movement in Yoga with the School of Body Mind Centering™ founded by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen.

In addition to yoga and meditation, Anne holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition and is a founding board member of Professional Nutrition Associates (PNA), a tri-state organization that promotes human nutrition and wellness education to its members and the public. She studied extensively with David Slater in the field of energy medicine and the use of vibrational remedies to release the blocks that prevent free flow within the body. She is also certified in the 5 Elements of Chinese Herbs.

Anne is an avid gardener with a love of nature. It is her hope that the Ananda Center will be a community garden for healing ourselves, those around us, and the earth.

Anna Shakun

Anna is Registered Yoga Teacher. She sees yoga as an art of living and believes that through practicing yoga you start recognizing yourself as a greater being; you empower your life to find with amazement that richness and bliss of existence are endless. Anna's knowledge of yogic philosophy, asana and body alignment comes from more than a decade of practicing in various yoga systems. Grown up in Iyengar tradition she seeks to work with each student to achieve ultimate therapeutic benefits. She believes that even the most basic pose has eternal depth and potential for every student’s health and growth. Her current style is inspired by Mitchel Bleier, a renowned yoga practitioner and a gifted teacher. Anna’s classes are intelligent and uplifting and combine awareness of breath and rhythmic asana flow with clear instructions and spiritual conversations. In addition to being a registered yoga teacher, Anna is a mother, an architect, and an artist. She continues to study yoga both in the classroom and in her daily life.
